Fourth Annual Best of Eagle Pass 2025 Winners Announced

The City of Eagle Pass celebrated its Fourth Annual Best of Eagle Pass 2025 Awards on Saturday, April 4, 2025 at the International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass, Texas, honoring winners in 33 categories amid a large audience of nominees, guests, and supporters in attendance.
Founded four years ago by the City of Eagle Pass Economic Development Department under the helm of former Director Arturo Marquez, the Best of Eagle Pass Awards purpose is to honor the best local small businesses and venues as well as to publish a Best of Eagle Pass Guide to provide to tourists and visitors in the community.
Interim Economic Development Director Addy Mendoza co-hosted the Fourth Annual Best of Eagle Pass 2025 Awards together with City Marketing Director Aide Castano and City Manager Homero Balderas.
Balderas welcomed all the nominees and guests to the awards and congratulated every nominee for being recognized among the top businesses in their category in the City of Eagle Pass.
The evening began with the first set of awards presented. For the Best Breakfast in Eagle Pass category, Gaona’s Restaurant was named the winner. In the Best Place for Lunch category, Choche’s BBQ & Bar was named the winner. For the Best Place for Dinner category, Parilla de San Miguel Restaurant earned the award. In the Best Pizza category, Frank’s Pizza nabbed the award. In the Best Burger category, The Wagon Wheel Restaurant won the award. In the Best Nachos category, Perikitos was named the winner.
For the Best Tacos category, Takitos con Sabor de Chavarria took the award. In the Best Food Truck category, Takitos con Sabor de Chavarria was named the winner. For the Best Local Chicken category, Rodee’s Country Fried Chicken swept the award. In the Best Snack Place category, Tocumbo was named the winner. For the Best Local Coffee Shop category, Sweet Tweet’s Bakery earned the award. In the Live Music category, the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino Que Pasa Lounge earned the award.
In the Best Place to Take Pictures category, Plaza San Juan nabbed the award. For the Best Place to Get Cocktails category, Perikitos swept the award. In the Best Gym/Fitness Studio category, Planet Fitness earned the award. For the Best City Park category, the Patsy Winn Sports Complex was named the winner. In the Best Family Place category, Peter Piper Pizza topped the award. For the Best Artisan category, Bees and Berries was named the winner. In the Best Hair Salon category, Hair and Beauty By Olguita and Michele earned the award.
For the Best Barbershop category, the Puerto Rican Barbership was named the winner. In the Best Place for Manicure/Pedicure category, Infinity Nails nabbed the award. For the Best Clothing Store category, CDJ Mode earned the award. In the Best Western Wear Shop, Danny’s Western Wear was named the winner. For the Best Local Grocery Shop category, Casino Grocery swept the award. In the One Stop Shop category, Casino Grocery was named the winner. For the Best Customer Service category, Sweet Tweet’s Bakery earned the award.
In the Best Tatoo Shop category, Texas Ink Tatoos & Piercings was named the winner. For the Best Flower Shop category, Lili’s Flower Shop swept the award. In the Best Hidden Gem category, Sweet Tweet’s Bakery took the award. For the Best Place to Stay in Eagle Pass category, the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino Hotel earned the award. In the Best New Small Business category, Treats by Dawn topped the award.
The City of Eagle Pass Economic Development Department will publish the Best of Eagle Pass 2025 Guide and distributed it at local hotels, motels, restaurants, and retail businesses. The City of Eagle Pass will also distribute the Best of Eagle Pass Guide at every economic development and tourism convention and exposition attended by City staff throughout the year.
