Rudy Trevino, Jr. Named Citizen of the Year at Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet

Eagle Pass entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community volunteer extraordinaire Rudy Trevino, Jr., owner of Lux Bod and Wok & Roll, was named the 2024 Citizen of the Year at the 95th Annual Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Banquet on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Trevino was nominated by a citizen whom recognized his extraordinary contributions to the community through his philanthropic and volunteerism in many local organizations and worthy causes. Trevino is a Director of the Eagle Pass Rotary Club, a member of the Eagle Pass Lions Club, serves on the Board of the City of Eagle Pass Main Street Program Committee, frequently donates to many local community causes, regularly volunteers his time and services to local organizations and events, maintains a strong faith in the Lord, and successfully manages two thriving businesses in downtown Eagle Pass.
Dr. Claudia Rodriguez-Wright, Second Vice-President of the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce, announced the nominees for the coveted Citizen of the Year Award as Yolanda Rivas of SAVIR Realty, Pablo Garcia, Jr. of Maverick County Judge’s Office, and Rudy Trevino, Jr. Dr. Rodriguez-Wright noted that all three nominees were worthy of receiving the award, but the Chamber had the difficult task of selecting one recipient among the distinguished nominees.
Trevino praised the Lord for granting him good health and a strong faith in serving the community as a volunteer, philanthropist, and business entrepreneur. Trevino was presented a crystal engraved award by Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce President Jorge Barrera and Dr. Claudia Rodriguez-Wright. State Representative Heriberto Morales presented Trevino through his staff person, Sonia Moreno, a State Proclamation naming him the Citizen of the Year and congratulating him for his outstanding contributions to the community.
Also at the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Banquet, the new Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce for 2025 were sworn-in and administered their Oath of Office by Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr.
The 2025 Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors sworn-in included President Jorge Barrera, First Vice-President William “Billy” Davis, Second Vice-President Dr. Claudia Rodriguez-Wright, Secretary-Treasurer Nestor Bonilla, and Board members Hector Cerna, Diana Jimenez, Diana Salinas, Edna Kristi De Los Santos, Ricardo Gonzalez, III, Jorge Cavazos, Mike Garcia, Noe Rodriguez, and Stephany Valdez. Chamber Executive Director is Margie Montoya and Associate Director is Luz Casanova.
Mayor Salinas presented his annual State of the City Address before the Chamber Banquet audience as well as a video highlight of the City’s 2024 achievements, detailing the numerous projects and programs developed and completed by the City during 2024.
Chamber of Commerce President Jorge Barrera rendered his Annual State of the Chamber Address at the March 14th Banquet, highlighting the numerous new businesses that opened and those who expanded their existing businesses in the community. Barrera was re-elected as President of the Chamber of Commerce for 2025 by the Board of Directors.
Chamber of Commerce Vice-President William “Billy” Davis served as the Master of Ceremony of the Banquet. Chamber of Commerce Board of Director Stephany Valdez was recognized for her contributions to coordinating and decorating the Annual Chamber Banquet.
Guests enjoyed a formal dinner, refreshments, a cash bar, raffle gifts and prizes donated by Chamber member businesses, and a dance following the Banquet annual business.
