Memorial Junior High Cheer Team Wins National Championship

The Eagle Pass Memorial Junior High School Mavericks Cheer Team captured the National Championship in their category at the 2025 Fun Cheer National Championship held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas, announced Alma Reyes, Memorial Junior High Cheer Team Sponsor.
The thundering Memorial Junior High Mavericks Cheer Team worked and practiced hard for many weeks to perfect their routines in preparation for the National Championships in San Antonio, added Reyes. “We are extremely proud and honored that our Memorial Junior High Cheer Team’s dedication, discipline, and performance was rewarded by the judges at the National Championships with the national crown for our category,” Reyes said.
The national championship earned by the Memorial Junior High Cheer Team is a testament to the talent and great students the Eagle Pass Independent School District is fortunate to have in its district.
The success of the Memorial Junior High Cheer Team is attributed to the students’ discipline, character, and commitment to both their academic studies and extracurricular activities such as cheer, plus having great coaches, teachers, and parents to support them.
The Memorial Junior High Cheer Team jumped with excitement and enthusiasm upon hearing their team winning the coveted and prestigious National Championship among the hundreds of teams competing at the Fun Cheer National Championships in San Antonio.
