Hyatt Place Hotel Celebrates Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The new 100 luxury room Hyatt Place Hotel in Eagle Pass, Texas celebrated its grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 amidst fanfare and a large audience of over 500 persons attending the historical and solemn event.
The Hyatt Place Hotel opened on December 11, 2024, but did not hold a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony until Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The new five star luxury hotel is owned by Amigos Hospitality, an investment group composed of Eagle Pass entrepreneurs Gabriel Bustamante, Oscar De Los Santos, and Saul Rodriguez. The Hyatt Place Hotel is a $9.6 million investment in the hospitality industry of Eagle Pass and a testament to the economic development growth being experienced by Eagle Pass, Texas.
The City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County awarded Amigos Hospitality, respectively, Chapters 380 and 381 tax abatements to enhance the viability of the new Hyatt Place Hotel in Eagle Pass. The hotel employs 25 persons and provides such amenities as large contemporary guest rooms and suites, a conference room, an executive meeting room and center, a swimming pool, a fitness center, a hotel bar, and free breakfast to guests.
Master of Ceremony for the grand opening was Pablo Garcia, Jr. Garcia welcomed the guests to the ribbon cutting ceremony and introduced the owners and dignitaries present at the event. Father Lawrence of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church of Eagle Pass led the ceremony with an invocation and a prayer blessing the business and its building for success in all of its endeavors.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. congratulated hotel owners Gabriel Bustamante, Oscar De Los Santos, and Saul Rodriguez on their investment, trust, and confidence in the economic growth of Eagle Pass. Salinas wished the owners great success with their investment in the community.
Maverick County Judge Ramsey English Cantu congratulated the owners on their vision and investment in developing the 100 room five star hotel in Maverick County.
Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico Mayoral representative Cynthia Villarreal welcomed the $9.6 million investment in Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, highlighting the close bonds and ties between the sister cities of Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras. Villarreal invited all guests to visit the friendly city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila during their stay at the new Hyatt Place Hotel and requested the owners build one in Piedras Negras, too.
American Hyatt Hotels Regional Vice-President Ruben Carrillo stated he was excited to be at the grand opening of the new Hyatt Place Hotel in Eagle Pass and congratulated Amigos Hospitality owners Gabriel Bustamante, Oscar De Los Santos, and Saul Rodriguez on selecting Hyatt Hotels as their partner in the hospitality industry. Carrillo announced that the owners of Amigos Hospitality will be developing and constructing a second Hyatt Place Hotel in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico in the near future.
Amigos Hospitality spokesperson Oscar De Los Santos, Jr. stated the owners were honored and privileged to be able to make a significant investment in their own community, Eagle Pass. De Los Santos noted the uniqueness of the project is the local ownership group. He thanked all the guests present at the grand opening ceremony for accompanying the owners and their families on this momentous grand opening ceremony.
Following the statements presented by the speakers, the owners and their lovely wives and guests proceeded to the official ribbon cutting ceremony. After the official ribbon cutting, guests were served hors d’ oeuvres and refreshments and received free tours of the sparkling facilities and amenities of the new Hyatt Place Hotel in Eagle Pass.
