Eagle Pass Mayoral Debate to be Held on April 2nd at International Center for Trade

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Council Election scheduled on Saturday, May 3, 2025 features a vacant seat for Mayor and two City Council seats, Places 2 and 4. The Mayor’s race features three candidates seeking to become the next Mayor of Eagle Pass at the May 3rd Election, including (in alphabetical order) Jesus Casas, Monica J. Cruz, and Aaron Valdez.
The Eagle Pass Business Journal is pleased to host a Mayoral Debate in collaboration with the local non-profit organizations of Eagle Pass Border Coalition, Eagle Pass Digital Arts Society, and the Elm Creek Park Committee on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at the International Center for Trade, West Room, 3295 Bob Rogers Drive, Eagle Pass, Texas. All three candidates have confirmed to the Eagle Pass Business Journal their participation in the April 2nd Mayoral Debate.
Admission to the April 2nd Mayoral Debate is open to the public and free. Seating is limited at the West Room of the International Center for Trade so admission will be based on a first come, first served basis. No candidate campaign signs, shirts, hats, buttons, propaganda or materials will be allowed inside the West Room debate site.
“The citizens of Eagle Pass have requested to see and hear the three candidates for Mayor in a public forum so we are pleased and honored to present them to the public at the April 2, 2025 Mayoral Debate in the West Room of the International Center for Trade,” said Ricardo E. Calderon, Publisher of the Eagle Pass Business Journal.
The April 2nd Mayoral Debate will be broadcast live on the Eagle Pass Business Journal Facebook Page starting at 5:30 p.m. and will also be videotaped for rebroadcast a day or two later on the You Tube Channel of the Eagle Pass Border Coalition.
The April 2nd Mayoral Debate is timely for Eagle Pass voters to learn more about the candidates seeking to become the next Mayor and for the candidates to present their qualifications and positions on key issues facing the City of Eagle Pass.
Early voting for the May 3, 2025 City Council Election starts on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 through Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the City of Eagle Pass Cruz Antonio Munoz Gymnasium, 2086 Roosevelt Drive, Eagle Pass, Texas. Regular Election Day is on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Cruz Antonio Munoz Gymnasium, as well.
