Eagle Pass City Council Candidate Question & Answer Public Meeting to be Held March 18th

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Council Election scheduled on May 3, 2025, featuring the Mayor and two City Council seats, has drawn great interest from the public to learn more about the candidates and the key issues facing the City of Eagle Pass.
To address the interest for a public forum to address the City Council Election, the Eagle Pass Business Journal together with local non-profit organizations Eagle Pass Border Coalition, Eagle Pass Digital Arts Society, and Elm Creek Park Campaign are hosting a Question & Answer Public Meeting of the City Council Election Candidates on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 5:30 P.M. at the International Center for Trade, West Room, located at 3295 Bob Rogers Drive, Eagle Pass, Texas. Each candidate has been invited to attend the public Question & Answer meeting on March 18th to present their qualifications, key issues, and answer questions from the public concerning important City issues. Admission is open and free to the public.
The City Council Candidate Question & Answer public meeting is a great opportunity for the candidates to present their perspectives on City issues as well as provide local voters an opportunity to learn more about the candidates and their campaign platforms.
The March 18th City Council Candidate Question & Answer Public Meeting is the first of three public forums scheduled by organizers to present the candidates and the issues driving the May 3, 2025 City Council Election.
Candidates registered for the May 3, 2025 City of Eagle Pass City Council Election are the following: Mayor—Monica J. Cruz, Jesus Casas, CPA, and Aaron Valdez; City Council Place 2–Elias Diaz and Jorge Sierra; and City Council Place 4: Jessica Rey Ramon, Alberto Rodriguez, and Hanson Uy Tesy.
A second public forum titled “Mayoral Debate” is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at the International Center for Trade, West Room, to allow the local voters an opportunity to learn more about the three candidates registered for the Mayor’s position, including Monica J. Cruz, Jesus Casas, CPA, and Aaron Valdez.
A third public gathering titled “Town Hall Meeting” is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at the International Center for Trade, East Room, to provide the candidates and voters one final opportunity to address and discuss the key issues facing the City of Eagle Pass before the start of the Early Voting Period on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 through Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the City of Eagle Pass Cruz Antonio Munoz Gymnasium, 2086 Roosevelt Street, Eagle Pass, Texas.
Regular City Council Election Day is scheduled on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Cruz Antonio Munoz Gymnasium, 2026 Roosevelt Street, Eagle Pass, Texas from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The three public forums are a public service for the benefit of the community and designed to provide the candidates and voters an opportunity to meet and discuss the key issues in the May 3, 2025 City Council Election.
