Eagle Pass Independent School District Piggy Gram Program Raises $24,504.95 for Maverick County Junior Livestock Show

The Eagle Pass Independent School District Piggy Gram Fundraising Program during 2024-2025 school year raised a total of $24,504.95 for the benefit of the 2025 Maverick County Junior Livestock Show participants held during January 22-25, 2025 in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Daniella Byrne, Public Relations Director of the Eagle Pass Independent School District.
The 24 Eagle Pass Independent School District school campuses are annually invited to participate in the voluntary Piggy Gram fundraising program by the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show Association (MCJLSA). The schools compete as to which school raises the most money for the MCJLS participants overall and by school categories, including Early Childhood, Elementary School, and Secondary School.
For 2025 the overall Grand Champion school with the highest amount of money raised for the MCJLS participants was Eagle Pass Junior High School with the total of $5,102, followed closely by Liberty Elementary with $5,001 in second place, and Kennedy Hall coming in third place with $3,900, announced Daniella Byrne. The top three Piggy Gram fundraising schools were presented with a banner and recognition on Friday, January 24, 2025 at the MCJLS.
In the Secondary School category, Eagle Pass Junior High was first with a total of $5,102 raised, followed by C. C. Winn High School in second place with a total of $2,438, and Eagle Pass High School came in third place with $1,369.
In the Elementary School category, Liberty Elementary won first place with a total of $5,001 raised, followed by Graves Elementary with $1,563 in second place, and Glass Elementary was third with $715 raised.
In the Early Childhood category, Kennedy Hall swept first place with $3,900 raised, followed by Early Childhood Center in second place with $1,560 raised, and Language Development Center in third place with $737 raised.
Other schools contributing and earning a Donor status include Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary with $573.95 raised, Seco Mines Elementary raised $408, Juan Seguin Elementary raised $250, Perfecto Mancha Elementary raised $243, Ray Darr Elementary raised $186, San Luis Elementary raised $180, Armando Cerna Elementary raised $114, Kirchner Elementary raised $91, Pete Gallego Elementary raised $60, and Sam Houston Elementary raised $46.
All $24,504.95 raised by the Eagle Pass Independent School District’s Piggy Gram Program are contributed to MCJLS participants who are students of the district member school campuses.
“We truly and genuinely appreciate the Eagle Pass Independent School District’s Piggy Gram fundraising program as it directly benefits our 4-H and FFA MCJLS participants with their projects at the show,” said Armando De La Cruz, President of the MCJLSA. “The funds are invested in our youth of Maverick County 100 percent,” added De La Cruz. “The 2025 Piggy Gram fundraising program total of $24, 504.95 raised is a significant contribution to the overall success of the MCJLS and Sale,” concluded De La Cruz.
