The first of three new hotels under construction in Eagle Pass, Texas, the Hyatt Place Hotel, located at 1060 Patsy Winn Blvd., during the past two years is celebrating its opening on December 11, 2024, announced Oscar De Los Santos of Los Amigos, L.L.C.
The new Hyatt Place Hotel is a $9.6 million investment by three Eagle Pass entrepreneurs, namely Oscar De Los Santos, Gabriel Bustamante, and Saul Rodriguez, and will have 100 rooms when open on December 11, 2024.
Eagle Pass is growing and local and out of town investors are developing new projects in the community. There are two additional hotels currently under construction with another one expected to open in early 2025. The third hotel is expected to come on board until late 2025 or early 2026.
What is unique about the Hyatt Place Hotel is that it is owned by local investors who either were born and/or grew up in Eagle Pass. De Los Santos stated “we have deep roots here, our parents are from here, we grew up here, we raised our children here, we wish and hope and raise our grandchildren here. It is here in Eagle Pass that we are seeing a big change in the way private and public sectors work together. We are extremely proud to be a pat of this up and coming economic development and investments forthcoming in our community. This large investment is being facilitated by the benefits and incentives offered by the City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County,” said Oscar De Los Santos.
Both the City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County provided Chapter 380 and 381 Tax Abatements to enhance the viability of this new multi-million dollar investment in Eagle Pass. The new Hyatt Place Hotel is at the intersection of U. S. Highway 277 North and Patsy Winn Blvd., at the entrance to the heralded City of Eagle Pass Patsy Winn Sports Complex.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. stated the Hyatt Place Hotel as well as the other two under construction are going to generate additional investments and economic development in Eagle Pass and Maverick County, bringing new jobs, economic growth, and opportunities to our U. S. – Mexico border community. Salinas noted there is a great demand for hotel rooms in Eagle Pass and these new 100 rooms at the Hyatt Place Hotel will contribute to the City’s Hotel Room Occupancy Taxes, attract new tourism, and spur new businesses such as restaurants, retail stores, and much more.
“We are extremely proud of the opening of the Hyatt Place Hotel on December 11, 2024 and the great benefits it will bring to the community. We congratulate the vision and confidence of the three local investors in selecting our community rather than an out of town location,” said Salinas.
The new Hyatt Place Hotel is four stories high with 100 rooms, will employ 25 people, feature spacious contemporary rooms, a conference room, an executive meeting room and center, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and a hotel bar.
Guests may now make their hotel reservations at the Hyatt Place Hotel through their online reservation center commencing December 11, 2024.
