Dr. David Chisum, Dr. Alberto “Beto” Bernal, and Rebecca “Becky” Robinson Elected to Maverick County Hospital District Board of Directors at November 5, 2024 Election

Maverick County Election Judge Enriqueta V. Collett announced that a total of 16,127 ballots were counted in the November 5, 2024 Election, including the Maverick County Hospital District Board of Directors election of three board seats. The top three vote getters among the seven candidates vying for one of the three seats were elected, specifically incumbent and Board Vice-President Rebecca “Becky” Robinson received the most votes with 4,944 (17.72%), Dr. David Chisum was second with 4,719 votes (16.91%), and Dr. Alberto “Beto” Bernal was third with 4,217 votes (15.11%).
Dr. Chisum, Dr. Bernal, and Ms. Robinson will be sworn-in and administered their oaths of office at the next meeting of the Maverick
County Hospital District Board of Directors meeting after the November 5, 2024 Election votes are canvassed and approved by the Board.
Other candidates receiving votes included Dr. Claudia Rodriguez-Wright with 3,894 votes (13.95%), Gera Villalpando received 3,707 votes (13.28%), Dr. Anita Ramirez obtained 3,389 votes (12.15%), and Dr. Juan J. Martinez received 3,034 votes (10.87%).
All seven candidates are to be commended for running such a close contested race for the three seats of the local hospital district board of directors.
