Consulate of Mexico at Eagle Pass to Host “Grito de Independencia” on September 14th

The Consulate of Mexico at Eagle Pass, Texas under the leadership of Consul Vivian Juarez Mondragon cordially invites the public to attend its “Grito de Independencia” celebration on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 6 p.m. at historic San Juan Plaza in Eagle Pass, Texas in recognition of Mexico’s 214th Independence Day Anniversary, featuring the traditional “Grito de Independencia, live music, entertainment, Ballet Folkloricos, food and refreshment booths, games and activities for the entire family.
Consul Vivian Juarez Mondragon and her dedicated staff at the Mexican Consulate at Eagle Pass have organized an extraordinary program for the evening of September 14th celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day and Fiestas Patrias.
The “Grito de Independencia” celebration is free and open to the public at San Juan Plaza in downtown Eagle Pass, Texas. A fun-filled evening with exciting music, live entertainment, games, activities, food and refreshment booths with all types of “antojitos’ Mexicanos, and the traditional “Grito de Independencia” will certainly provide a memorable and enjoyable experience for all who attend.
Consul Vivian Juarez Mondragon will be accompanied by City of Eagle Pass, Maverick County, and City of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico representatives at the Fiestas Patrias and “Grito de Independencia” on Saturday, September 14th.
Mexicans and people in around the world celebrate September 16th as Mexico’s Independence Day from Spain as Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla proclaimed independence from Spanish rule in the town of Dolores, Mexico on September 16, 1810, sparking a national movement of freedom and independence among all Mexicans yearning to be free from foreign rule in their own homeland.
