City of Eagle Pass City Council Adopts Balanced Budget for FY 2024-25
Eagle Pass, TX (Press Release)
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. and the City Council are proud to announce that on September 17, 2024, a balanced budget for FY 2024-25 has been approved.
The approved budget includes a reduction in ad valorem taxes. The City of Eagle Pass annual operating budget for the period of October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, continues to face the ongoing challenges of rising operational and maintenance costs.
The City’s biggest challenge is to maintain the current level of services that are provided to our citizens without having to raise ad valorem taxes. Despite these challenges, the City’s Administration Team worked tirelessly with all Departments to ensure the preparation of a comprehensive and balanced budget.
The City of Eagle Pass budget of approximately $58 million reflects the City’s commitment to continue to strive in providing high quality and exceptional services to our citizens of Eagle Pass. This great accomplishment was done despite the City’s property tax rate decrease and rising costs in providing services.
The adopted budget will allow for all City Departments to continue working diligently to accomplish the goals established by Mayor Salinas and City Council. “I want to express my gratitude to our City Council for their dedication and collaboration in approving a balanced budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025, which includes a reduction in the property tax rate. I also extend my gratitude to our Finance Department and City Staff for their teamwork in preparing a thorough and balanced budget that addresses the growing demand for our services and city growth,” said Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr.
“Our Eagle Pass residents can be rest assured that, despite rising costs, the City of Eagle Pass remains committed to delivering high-quality services. This year’s budget reflects the hard work of all our City Departments, who came together as a cohesive team to develop innovative solutions that ensure uninterrupted services,” said City Manager, Homero Balderas.
