14 Eagle Pass Students Appointed to Mayor’s Youth Council

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Council appointed 14 new Eagle Pass Independent School District students to the Mayor’s Youth Council at its Tuesday, September 3, 2024 regular meeting. These 14 students will join six current members of the Mayor’s Youth Council returning from last year’s Youth Council.
The Mayor’s Youth Council is designed to promote leadership among local students and serve as an advisory group to the Eagle Pass City Council on city-related ordinances and issues.
Appointed to the 2024-2025 Mayor’s Youth Council include: Sofia Salinas of Eagle Pass High School; Natalie Martinez of Eagle Pass High School; Marichel Hernandez of Eagle Pass High School; Ethan Davis of Eagle Pass High School; Fernando Fabela of Eagle Pass High School; Christina Williams of Eagle Pass High School; Fatima De La Pena of Eagle Pass High School; Jimena Castillo of Eagle Pass High School; Ulises Balderas of Eagle Pass Junior High; Anahi Huerta of Eagle Pass Junior High; Sergio Vasquez of Winn High School; Josiah Garcia of Winn High School; and Alicia Zavala of Memorial Junior High.
Current Mayor’s Youth Council members present at the September 3, 2024 City Council meeting included Jazmin Mata, Maria Gonzalez, Isabela Valdez, Gael Losoya, and Anamari Ruiz.
The Mayor’s Youth Council will be sworn-in next week at their first regular 2024-2025 school year meeting.
