New Head Coaches Announced at Winn High School: Erika Rodriguez, Randy Garza and Yanett Rodriguez

Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent Samuel Mijares announced that the Board of Trustees hired three new head coaches for Winn High School at their special meeting held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 to fill vacancies at the school athletic department.
Named as the new Winn High School Lady Mavericks Head Volleyball Coach is Erika Rodriguez. Rodriguez takes over the helm of the Lady Mavericks Volleyball program after the departure of former Head Coach Corina Benavides to a San Antonio, Texas school.
Named as the new Winn High School Mavericks Track and Field Head Coach was Randy Garza who previously was an assistant coach and will now lead the Mavericks track and field program after the retirement of former Head Coach Apolinar Garza.
Named as the new Winn High School Mavericks Cross Country Head Coach is Yanett Rodriguez. Rodriguez takes over the surging Mavericks and Lady Mavericks cross country program who are now training for their first meet this month.
The EPISD Board of Trustees also hired Rene Ramirez as the new Winn High School Mavericks Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Director. Ramirez previously served as Co-Defensive Coordinator of the stampeding Mavericks football program upon the promotion of former Head Coach Eric Villasenor as the new District Athletic Director.
