Maverick County Democratic Party Chair Juanita V. Martinez Named National Delegate for Democratic National Convention in Chicago, IL

Maverick County Democratic Party Chair Juanita V. Martinez was named at the Texas Democratic Party Convention in June 2024 in El Paso, Texas a National Delegate representing Texas’ Congressional District 23 at the Democratic National Convention to be held in Chicago, Illinois during August 19-22, 2024.
Martinez has been Chairman of the Maverick County Democratic Party since 2018. Under Martinez’s leadership, Maverick County has elected Democrats in a majority of the local political posts, keeping Maverick County a strong Democratic Party community. Prior to becoming County Chairman, Martinez served as Secretary of the Maverick County Democratic Party as well as a Precinct Chair in Maverick County.
Martinez stated she is deeply honored and privileged to represent Maverick County and the State of Texas at the Democratic Party National Convention in Chicago, Illinois.
Martinez noted that she is the first woman born in Eagle Pass, Texas to be named as a National Delegate to the Democratic Party National Convention. During her tenure, Martinez has led the Maverick County Democratic Party to having its own brick and mortar headquarters as well as being named a regional state party office for southwest Texas.
Martinez added that she plans to advocate for issues affecting the U. S.-Mexico border communities, women’s reproductive rights, voting rights, education, gun safety, healthcare, and social services, particularly to senior and disabled citizens.
The Democratic Party National Convention in Chicago significance has grown in recent days as President Joe Biden will seek to be nominated as the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party in the November 5, 2024 election. President Biden seeks re-election to another four year term based on his extraordinary public record.
