Benavides Heights Elementary School in Eagle Pass, Texas announced that the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of their graduating sixth grade class on Friday, May 17, 2024, are 11 year-old twin brothers, Christian Rodriguez and Carlos E. Rodriguez, III, respectively. The Rodriguez twins are the children of Carlos E. Rodriguez, Jr. and Donna Lee Rodriguez of Eagle Pass.
The Eagle Pass Business Journal interviewed the twins and asked them what are their favorite school subjects. Valedictorian, Christian, stated he definitely loved “Reading,” while Salutatorian, Carlos, answered he liked “Math.” Christian said his favorite books are the Harry Potter series and Carlos stated he enjoyed reading the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
The twin brothers are active in many school activities, including Student Council, U. I. L. Academic Team, and sports such as football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. In football, they play running back and wide receiver. They both love to volunteer at school and in the community.
Outside of school, the twins enjoy sports and video games such as Fortnite, Minecraft, and Roblox. Carlos happily stated his favorite emote to use is the “boogie-down.” The twin brothers agreed that if they could choose a superpower, it would be teleportation because “it’s easier to get everywhere,” said Christian. Christian said he would go back to the Bahamas and Carlos would go “somewhere cold, where there is snow.”
The boys informed that if they could improve their elementary school, Carlos would add a playground in the back while Christian stated a “longer lunch.”
The sixth graders looked ahead to attending junior high school. Christian said “it’s big and scary” while Carlos stated “I feel like I’m going to get lost.” The pair noted they are going to miss Benavides Heights Elementary, but look forward to attending junior high school.
The twins acknowledge their parents and family for supporting them in all of their activities from sports to academic meets to fundraising for school activities. Junior high here come the Rodriguez twin brothers, Christian and Carlos.
