South 57 Music Festival Kicks-Off Weekend of Total Solar Eclipse Festivities in Eagle Pass

Thousands of tourists and visitors are scheduled to participate in the first ever South 57 Music Festival during Friday, April 5 through Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas, kicking-off a weekend of festivities climaxing on Monday, April 8, 2024 when the galactic Total Solar Eclipse peaks with totality (complete darkness) at 1:27 p.m. for four minutes and 23 seconds in the first American city to attain such status, Eagle Pass.
The City of Eagle Pass and the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino are jointly sponsoring the three day South 57 Music Festival starting on Friday, April 5 through Sunday, April 7, featuring 17 music artists and bands performing on the banks of the Rio Grande River adjacent to the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas.
On Friday, April 5, the South 57 Music Festival gates open at 3 p.m. at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino with an opening musical lineup of five artists and bands, starting at 4:30 p.m. with hometown favorite Los Garcia Brothers inaugurating the music festival, followed by recording artist Kin Faux at 6 p.m. providing the entertainment, followed by Tejano recording artist Gary Hobbs of Eagle Pass at 7:30 p.m. belting the tunes on stage, followed by musical artist Kevin Fowler at 9 p.m., and closing out the first night of music is none other than recording artist Chris Young at 10:30 p.m.
The 57 South Music Festival continues the beat on Saturday, April 6, with an impressive lineup of six musical artists and bands, featuring Eclipse: Journey Tribute at 3 p.m., followed by Eagle Pass very own country and western crooner Dustin De La Garza at 4:30 p.m., followed by The After Party at 6 p.m., then followed by Braxton Keith at 7:30 p.m., followed by Randall King at 9 p.m., and the closing artist is Parker McCollum at 10:30 p.m.
On Sunday, April 7, the South 57 Music Festival lineup features six recording artists and bands commencing at 3 p.m. with Cody Hibbard, followed by Chicos De Barrio at 4:30 p.m., then followed by Shane Smith and the Saints at 6 p.m., followed by Tejano recording artist Bobby Pulido at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Randy Rogers Band at 9 p.m., and the grand finale act is the legendary King of Norteno music, Ramon Ayala, at 10:30 p.m.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase by local and out-of-town vendors offering all types of cuisines and drinks at the music fest.

Highlighting the extended weekend festivities is the majestic Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024 in Eagle Pass, Texas, commencing at 12:10 p.m. with the totality happening at 1:27 p.m. for four minutes and 23 seconds and ending at 2:51 p.m.
Eagle Pass has the distinction of being the first American continental city to experience the path of totality of the April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, drawing thousands of tourists and visitors.
The City of Eagle Pass will open the Patsy Winn Sports Complex, located at 1325 Patsy Winn Boulevard, as an official public eclipse viewing site starting at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring your solar eclipse viewing glasses, camera, family and children for an exhilarating, once in a lifetime experience. Admission is free. Food and refreshment vendors will be available on site.
The Eagle Pass Independent School District is also offering a public viewing eclipse site at the Student Activity Center, located at 5021 East U. S. Highway 277, in Eagle Pass, opening at 10:30 a.m. through 3:30p.m. The local school district will be closed for the day of the eclipse, April 8, except for the public viewing site. Admission is free. Food and refreshment vendors will be available on site.
