Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras International Good Neighbor Council Names Ricardo Ramos and Rodolfo Valdes Guillen as 2024 Mr. Amigos

The Eagle Pass, Texas and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico International Good Neighbor Councils announced the selection of the 2024 Mr. Amigo for each country for the 62nd Anniversary of the Abrazo de la Amistad Ceremony scheduled to be held on March 27, 2024 at midway of the Eagle Pass International Bridge No. 1., naming Ricardo Ramos for Eagle Pass and Rodolfo Valdes Guillen for Piedras Negras.
Ramos is an attorney and rancher in Eagle Pass, Texas, as well as a United States Army veteran.
The Abrazo de la Amistad ceremony is one of the highlights of the 2024 Eagle Pass International Friendship Festival, wherein each Mr. Amigo participates in exchanging a traditional “abrazo de la amistad” (friendship hug), symbolizing the close social and cultural ties between the citizens of Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras. Dignitaries and attendees likewise exchange a friendship hug following the two Mr. Amigos.
The 2024 Eagle Pass International Friendship Festival runs from March 22-31, 2024 with multiple events, including the International Friendship Festival Carnival which will be held at Fort Duncan Park behind Moncada Baseball Field, the International Friendship Festival Parade scheduled for March 23, 024, the Eagle Pass Evening Lions Noches Mexicanas, and other events throughout the community.
