Eagle Pass Celebrates 2024 International Friendship Festival, South 57 Music Fest, and Total Solar Eclipse

Between March 22 through April 8, 2024, the City of Eagle Pass and its residents are donning their celebratory hats with a diverse core of activities slated during this period, including the 2024 International Friendship Festival, the South 57 Music Festival, and the Total Solar Eclipse, drawing thousands of tourists and visitors to the U. S.-Mexico border community.
Kicking-off the celebrations is the 2024 International Friendship Festival during March 22-31, 2024, featuring the annual International Friendship Festival Carnival at the Fort Duncan Park behind the City of Eagle Pass Moncada Baseball Park, the always festive and colorful International Friendship Parade on Saturday, March 23rd, at 11 a.m. in downtown Eagle Pass, and the traditional Abrazo de la Amistad Ceremony at the Eagle Pass International Bridge No. 1 on Wednesday, March 27th at 6 p.m. with Mr. Amigos Ricardo Ramos and Rodolfo Valdez Guillen presiding over the friendship hug ceremony.
Also on Wednesday, March 27th, Southwest Texas Junior College at Eagle Pass is hosting its First Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the college campus located at 3101 Bob Rogers Drive from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the event is open to the public with free admission. A traditional egg hunt for various kids age categories and SWTJC students will be held as well as photos with the Easter Bunny, Bouncy Castle, Music, Face Painting, School Performances, and fun activities and games for all ages. Join the fun and frolic at SWTJC at Eagle Pass.
The 2024 International Friendship Festival highlight, the Abrazo de la Amistad Ceremony, will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, at 6 p.m. at the Eagle Pass International Bridge No. 1, which is open to the public and free admission.
The party continues on Thursday, March 28th, with a special Beer and Barracks Free Music Concert from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Fort Duncan Barracks on Bliss Street featuring live music with Da Krazy Pimpz and lots of food and refreshment vendors available. Admission to the music concert and event is free and open to the public. Bring your party hats and dancing shoes.
The pachanga continues during April 5-7, 2024 with the first ever South 57 Music Festival featuring 17 bands and artists throughout a three day musical festival unseen before on the U. S.-Mexico border at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas. The South 57 Music Festival is open to the public, but tickets to the festival must be purchased in advance at: http://57south57musicfest.com/festival-tickets/. Tickets will not be sold on-site on the days of the event. So, purchase your tickets in advance online. Cost is $50 per day.
On Friday, April 5th, the 57 South Music Festival will feature Chris Young, Kevin Fowler, Gary Hobbs, Kin Faux, and Los Garcia Brothers.
On Saturday, April 6th, the 57 South Music Fest continues with liver performances from Parker McCollum, Randall King, Braxton Keith, The After Party, Eclipse: Journey Tribute, and Dustin De La Garza.
On Sunday, April 7th, the 57 South Music Fest finales features the legendary Ramon Ayala, the Randy Rogers Band, Shane Smith & the Saints, Bobby Pulido, Cody Hibbard, and Chicos de Barrio.
The party concludes on Monday, April 8th, with the once in a lifetime Total Solar Eclipse happening throughout North America, including Eagle Pass as the first city in the United States to experience the Total Solar Eclipse and its Path to Totality at approximately 1:23 p.m., drawing thousands of tourists and visitors to the community.
