Eagle Pass Water Works System Hosts Regional Water and Wastewater Conference

The City of Eagle Pass Water Works System hosted the 8th Annual Water and and Wastewater Regional Conference during February 21-23, 2024 at the Eagle Pass International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Jorge Barrera, Eagle Pass Water Works System General Manager.
Over 250 persons and 50 trade exhibitors attended the regional water and wastewater conference and expo at Eagle Pass, Texas.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. welcomed the conference delegates and exhibitors to Eagle Pass and Maverick County and offered his Mayor’s Office for any assistance they may need during their stay or business in the community. Salinas noted the importance of having a clean water and wastewater system in every community.
Conference attendees arrived on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 for registration and an opening reception at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino. Local hotels provided the finest lodging for guests visiting Eagle Pass.
The Conference kicked-off in earnest on Thursday, February 22, 2024 with multiple seminars and presentations by experts in the waste and wastewater system industry at the Eagle Pass International Center for Trade. Two simultaneous seminar tracks were presented to conference attendees with salient scientific information presented and discussed by leading trade experts and attendees.
Eagle Pass Water System General Manager Jorge Barrera stated this year’s conference is the largest attendance and most vendors participating in the regional water and wastewater conference. He noted the regional conference has been growing every year during the past eight years and is now recognized as a leading water and wastewater conference in Texas.
The conference will continue until Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Eagle Pass International Center for Trade with general work sessions and luncheon scheduled together with raffles and awards to be presented to attendees.
Mayor Salinas stated the regional waste and wastewater conference is an important economic contributor to the City of Eagle Pass as local hotels, restaurant, and businesses benefitted from sales arising from the conference attendees.
