Maverick County Hospital District Celebrates Urgent Care Center Grand Opening

The Maverick County Hospital District (MCHD) celebrated the grand opening of its state of the art Urgent Care Center, located at 2824 N. Veterans Blvd., Suite A, in Eagle Pass, Texas on Monday, November 13, 2023 with over 200 persons attending the official ribbon cutting ceremony in a cool, light steady drizzle, a blessing and approval from the heavens of this new salient healthcare facility in the community.
The grand opening celebration was a collaborative effort of the Maverick County Hospital District and the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce.
Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce President, Jorge Barrera, was Master of Ceremony at the grand opening, welcoming all distinguished public dignitaries and guests to the historic ribbon cutting ceremony.
Maverick County Hospital District Board of Directors Aaron Valdez, Chairman, Rebecca Robinson, Vice-President, Adolfo Olivares, Secretary-Treasurer, Gerardo Villalpando, and Humberto Duran joined Chief Executive Officer, Alma Martinez, and the MCHD Healthcare Providers and staff in inaugurating the welcome addition to the healthcare services provided by MCHD.
MCHD CEO Alma Martinez thanked the Board of Directors and dedicated professional healthcare providers for their foresight and visionary leadership in expanding the healthcare services to residents of Maverick County upon opening the new Urgent Care Center.
MCHD Board Chairman Aaron Valdez stated “today marks a momentous occasion as we gather to celebrate the opening of our new Urgent Care Center. This facility stands as part of our unwavering commitment to enhance healthcare access and providing top notch medical care in our community….This entire organization from our medical staff to our Administration have demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication. Their expertise and compassion is the cornerstone of the high quality care that we provide….They are the heart of our mission to ensure the highest quality of life and care for our residents” of Maverick County.
Martinez introduced the new medical director of the MCHD Urgent Care Center, Dr. Hector Trevino, who recognized the fact that “the Hospital District Board of Directors and Administrator in their foresight are helping to bring and integrate healthcare in our community and it is a great positive move” for the community. Martinez also recognized the MCHD healthcare providers present at the grand opening.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. stated “what a great day for the City of Eagle Pass….We have everyone here from our community—the County Judge, the Superintendent of Schools, and Mr. Montalvo everybody supporting the Maverick County Hospital District. This is one of the things that is needed the most in our community, more medical services for our community….”
Maverick County Judge Ramsey English Cantu stated “Congratulations to the Maverick County Hospital District….The Board of Directors of the Maverick County Hospital District needs to be commended because their foresight and vision that they are seeing for healthcare in this community is something we should all be very proud of….”
In addition to the public dignitaries mentioned as present at the grand opening, other public dignitaries also attending included Eagle Pass City Council Members Elias Diaz and Mario E. Garcia, Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent Samuel Mijares, Eagle Pass Interim City Manager Ivan Morua, Maverick County Tax-Assessor Collector Asalia Casares, Congressman Tony Gonzales’s Representative Regina Santos-Aviles, and others.
Following the public comments, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with enthusiasm and excitement as everyone wanted to go inside for a personal tour of the new facility.
Guests were provided refreshments and hors d’ oeuvres catered by one of the finest restaurants in town.
The highly-acclaimed Eagle Pass High School Mariachi Aguilas de Oro serenaded and entertained the guests inside the center as guests mingled and toured the state of the art facility.
The new MCHD Urgent Care Center is open to the public with all insurances and walk-ins accepted. The Urgent Care Center’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The address is 2824 N.
