293rd Judicial District Attorney, Roberto “Bobby” Serna, announced that he registered for re-election to a ninth term as the 293rd Judicial District Attorney for Maverick, Dimmit, and Zavala counties on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Texas Democratic Party Headquarters in Austin, Texas.
Serna has served as the 293rd Judicial District Attorney for 33 years in the Middle Rio Grande area of the Texas-Mexico border. He seeks a record ninth term for an additional four years from 2025-2028 to continue ensuring that criminal justice is prosecuted in the three county district composed of Maverick, Dimmit, and Zavala.
Serna stated that he is thankful and grateful to the voters of the 293rd Judicial District Attorney for allowing him to serve them the past 33 years and seeks another term to prosecute the growing criminal activity arising from the current immigration crisis afflicting the United States-Mexico border.
Serna will participate in the Democratic Party Primary in the March 5, 2024 election and expects to win his primary bid to advance to the General Election scheduled on November 5, 2024. He stated that he is excited to continue serving the citizens of Maverick, Dimmit, and Zavala counties and enjoys an excellent working relationship with the citizens as well as all local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
Accompanying Serna at his candidate registration was his lovely wife, Norma Serna.
