Border Federal Credit Union Celebrates Groundbreaking Ceremony of El Indio Highway Branch

The Border Federal Credit Union (BFCU) Board of Directors and Administration celebrated the official groundbreaking ceremony of their new $5.5 Million Branch Office located at 2344 El Indio Highway, Eagle Pass, Texas on Thursday, October 12, 2023, announced Maria J. Martinez, CEO of BFCU.
BFCU CEO Maria J. Martinez welcomed all the BFCU members, staff, and local public dignitaries to the official groundbreaking of the new 7,501 square feet branch at 2344 El Indio Highway in Eagle Pass.
BFCU Board Chairman Carmen Gutierrez thanked the citizens of Eagle Pass and Maverick County for accepting and enrolling in the financial services offered at BFCU, creating a demand and need of a new branch office in southern Eagle Pass. Gutierrez acknowledged the City of Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. and City Council members for fostering a progressive economic development environment for existing and new businesses.
BFCU CEO Maria J. Martinez credited the City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County awarding of Chapters 380 and 381 tax abatement credits as being instrumental for expansion in the community.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. thanked BFCU for their new branch office and creating key employment positions and economic development opportunities in the community.
Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 3 Olga M. Ramos cited BFCU as an exemplary economic development catalyst in Maverick County.
BFCU Board Members at the groundbreaking ceremony included Chairman Carmen Gutierrez, Dora Alcala, Alejandro García, Christopher Ryan, and Jose A. Aranda, Jr.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, guests were hosted at a reception held at the BFCU office located at 2080 North Veterans Blvd. in Eagle Pass.
