United Medical Centers Celebrates Grand Opening of Women’s Health Center

The United Medical Centers kicked-off its 50th Anniversary and National Health Centers Week with a gala grand opening of its new state of the art 10,000 square feet Women’s Health Center, located at 2525 N. Veterans Blvd., Eagle Pass, Texas, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, announced William Worrell, Chief Executive Officer.
“The new Women’s Health Center is designed to cater to the comprehensive healthcare needs of women of all ages in the community. It is a symbol of our pledge to create a healthier future, where every woman receives the health care and attention she deserves,” said Worrell.
The Women’s Health Center will provide a one-stop health care service center for all women in Eagle Pass, offering professional and advanced services to each patient in a modern, comfortable facility equipped with the latest technology in the delivery of healthcare services.
United Medical Centers Board Chairman Jose M. De Luna, III welcomed all the community stakeholders and patients to the historic grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony and commended all of the dedicated and outstanding healthcare providers, nurses, staff, and patients for making the new advanced Women’s Health Center a reality in the community.
United Medical Centers Director of Operations Lucia Rosas highlighted the new Women’s Health Center is fully equipped with the latest technology and staffed by a professional team of physicians and nursing staff dedicated and committed to providing the highest level of healthcare services to all women in Maverick County.
Worrell thanked all of the public dignitaries, including Maverick County Judge Ramsey English Cantu and Eagle Pass Mayor Pro-Tem William “Billy” Davis, Mexican Consul Vivian Juarez Mondragon, and Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees Chariman Jorge Barrera, physicians, nurses, healthcare providers, staff, and patients for their loyal and continued support of UMC in the community.
The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce sponsored the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Chamber Executive Director Ruben Herrera congratulated the UMC Board of Directors. management, and healthcare professionals for their genuine commitment to providing critically needed healthcare services to the community for the past 50 years and on opening its state of the art Women’s Health Center.

United Medical Centers is a rural health center serving Maverick, Kinney, and Val Verde counties in southwest Texas through nine medical centers in Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Brackettville, Texas. UMC offers comprehensive medical services that include family medicine, family planning, health education and nutrition counseling, internal medicine, pediatrics, podiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, WIC, and dental.
Following the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests were provided personal tours of the new Women’s Health Center and refreshments and hors d’ oeuvres were served.
