Vadel Funeral Home Celebrates Grand Opening

The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce hosted the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the newest business in the community, Vadel Funeral Home, on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 2927 E. Main Street, Eagle Pass, Texas, amidst a large audience of family, friends, and civic leaders.
Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce President Jorge Barrera welcomed all the guests to the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Barrera congratulated Vadel Funeral Home owners, Rito J. Valdez and wife, Maricela Valdez and children, on their new business in the community and wished them success in all their endeavors.
Funeral Director and owner, Rito Javier Valdez, III, thanked all the persons for attending the grand opening of Vadel Funeral Home and those who sent well wishes, flowers, and gifts in honor of the grand opening ceremony. Valdez also thanked his wife, Maricela Valdez, and children for their support in developing and opening Vadel Funeral Home. Valdez stated Vadel Funeral Home is the culmination of over 20 years of experience in mortuary services and the genuine pursuit of empathetic services to families grieving the loss of a family member or loved one.
Valdez noted Vadel Funeral Home represents the fourth generation of the Valdez family legacy in mortuary services in both the United States and Mexico. He thanked his grandfather, Rito Valdez, for starting the funeral home legacy in the family, his parents, Rito and Sonia Valdez, for making him the person he is today, his sister and brother-in-law, Sonia and Beyer Junfin, for their support, family, and friends for their loyalty and support.
Maverick County Judge Ramsey English Cantu congratulated Rito J. and Maricela Valdez and children on their significant investment on their new business in the community and thanked them for their confidence and trust in the community.
State Representative Heriberto “Eddie” Morales, Jr. congratulated the Valdez family on their dedication and industriousness in providing services to families in greatest need in the community. Morales noted that both the Morales family and the Valdez family started their respective businesses in Mexico by their grandfathers and brought their businesses to the United States. Morales wished Rito J. and Maricela Valdez and family all the success in their new funeral home business.
Father Peter Antonisamy, O.M. I., of Sacred Heart Catholic Church presented the invocation and blessing of the business, Vadel Funeral Home.
In addition to Morales and Cantu present at the grand opening, other Maverick County public dignitaries at the ceremony included Maverick County Commissioners Gerardo Morales, Olga M. Ramos, Roxana “Roxy” Rios, and Roberto Ruiz, Maverick County District Clerk Leopoldo Vielma, Maverick County Attorney Jaime “A. J.” Iracheta, Maverick County Auditor F. Raul Trevino, former Eagle Pass Mayor Pro-Tem Yolanda P. Ramon, Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson Juanita V. Martinez, and others.
Also attending the grand opening were mortuary colleagues Rodolfo “Fito” Barrera and son, Rodolfo “Fitito” Barrera, Jr. of Yeager-Barrera Mortuary of Eagle Pass, Texas.

Following the ceremony, guest were given tours of the new facility and provided refreshments and hors d’ oeuvres.
