Eagle Pass Independent School District Announces 2022-2023 Teachers of the Year

The Eagle Pass Independent School District announced on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, its 2022-2023 Academic Year Teachers of the Year for each campus, honoring excellence in education, leadership, and distinguished teaching methodologies, said Samuel Mijares, Superintendent of the Eagle Pass Independent School District.
A total of 23 Eagle Pass Independent School District teachers received recognition as 2022-2023 Teachers of the Year, Mijares said.
Named as 2022-2023 Teachers of the Year for Early Childhood campuses are Linda Calderon at Early Childhood Center, Concepcion Garcia at Language Development Center, Rocio L. Hurtado at Kennedy Hall, and Victoria Herrera at Rosita Valley Literacy Academy.
Named as 2022-2023 Teachers of the Year for Elementary School campuses are Anita Gomez at Armando Cerna Elementary, Ana Cabello at Benavides Heights Elementary, Maribel Gonzalez at Dena Kelso Graves Elementary, Sonia Salinas at Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary, Elsa Recio at Juan N. Seguin Elementary, Arturo Gonzalez at Liberty Elementary, Aracelie Wiebush at Kirchner Elementary, Alejandra Lechler Ruiz at Nellie Mae Glass Elementary, Jose Salazar at Perfecto Mancha Elementary, Jessica Rodriguez at Pete P. Gallego Elementary, Graciela Cedillo at Ray H. Darr Elementary, Claudia Rios at Rosita Valley Elementary, Diana Centeno at Sam Houston Elementary, Dora Velasquez at San Luis Elementary, and Mary Ann Glammer at Seco Mines Elementary.
Named as 2022-2023 Teaches of the Year for Secondary School campuses are Alejandra Martinez at Memorial Junior High, Julie Cruz at Eagle Pass Junior High, Roberto Hoffman, Jr. at C. C. Winn High School, and Francisco Sanchez at Eagle Pass High School.
Mijares congratulated each of the Teachers of the Year recognized for the 2022-2023 Academic Year and thanked them for their dedication and commitment to their students and the Eagle Pass Independent School District.
