Eagle Pass Fire Department Firefighters, Emergency Medical Services, and Administration Receive Recognition

The City of Eagle Pass Fire Department Firefighters, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Chief Manuel Mello, and Administration received recognition for their extraordinary service and valor in the community from State Representative Heriberto Morales, Jr. at a ceremony held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at City Council Chambers within City Hall, 100 S. Monroe Street, Eagle Pass, Texas.
Sonia Moreno, a representative of State Representative Heriberto Morales, Jr., presented Eagle Pass Fire Chief Manuel Mello with a letter of recognition for his 30 years of dedicated service to the community. Morales was not present at the ceremony due to the 88th Texas Legislature being in session in Austin, Texas.
Moreno also presented letters of recognition to Eagle Pass Firefighters Manuel Roman for his 25 years of service, Luis Gonzalez for 25 years of service, Juan Olivares for 20 years of service, Eleazar Cuevas for 20 years of service, and William Durston for 20 years of service.
Eagle Pass Fire Chief Manuel Mello also presented Firefighter Michael Morales with the 2022 Eagle Pass Firefighter of the Year Award on behalf of the City of Eagle Pass.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. joined State Representative Heriberto Morales, Jr. in recognizing the Eagle Pass Fire Department Firefighters, Emergency Medical Services, and Administration for their unparalleled dedication and service to the community.
Mayor Salinas stated the Eagle Pass Fire Department has never been so busy as in recent months responding to many fires, rescues, accidents, and service calls within Eagle Pass and Maverick County. Salinas commended all of the Eagle Pass Fire Department members for their great service and valor in performing their duties.
Eagle Pass Fire Chief Manuel Mello thanked all of his firefighters, emergency medical services, and administration for their unwavering and dedicated work in protecting and serving the community. Mello commended all Fire Department personnel for their extraordinary conduct and performance of their work.
Fire Chief Mello also thanked his Assistant Fire Chief Rodolfo Cardona, Fire Marshal Eleazar Cuevas, Captains Rogelio Barrientos, Luis Gonzalez, and Manuel Roman, EMS Director Jason Mares, and each member of the Fire Department for their contributions to the community.
