Search Warrant Executed in Missing Eagle Pass Woman Investigation

The Eagle Pass Police Department together with the Texas Department of Public Safety Rangers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of Buena Vista Drive in Eagle Pass, Texas on Friday, February 2, 2023, related to the investigation of the missing 24 year old woman, Evelyn Guardado, who was last seen on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 leaving her workplace at the Eagle Pass Detention Facility-Geo at approximately 2 p.m., according to Eagle Pass Police Chief Federico Garza.
Texas Rangers and Eagle Pass Police Detectives arrived at the residence to execute the search warrant issued by a judge and spent several hours collecting evidence from the residence.
Guardado’s automobile, a gray Dodge Charger, was seen parked at the residence on the 800 block of Buena Vista Drive for a considerable number of hours, according to neighbor’s surveillance videos. The automobile was found two days later covered with a tarp at the Latigo Apartments, located at 2046 Legacy Blvd., in Eagle Pass, Texas. Obviously, the automobile was moved by an unknown person(s) across town in Eagle Pass. The automobile was confiscated as evidence by the Eagle Pass Police Department and has undergone extensive investigatory analysis for evidentiary purposes.
Assisting the Eagle Pass Police Department and Texas Rangers were the U. S. Border Patrol K-9 Units, a Maritime Boat on the nearby Rio Grande River, and a helicopter for aerial surveillance of the area. A search of the area near the residence at the 800 block of Buena Vista Drive and along the Rio Grande River Vega and waters was conducted by U. S. Border Patrol.
Members of the missing woman’s family did preliminary investigative work that led law enforcement to the residence at the 800 block on Buena Vista Drive.
There is one or more persons of interest being interrogated and investigated regarding the case, but no arrests or charges have been filed against anyone as of press time.
As of press time, the missing woman, Evelyn Guardado, has not been located nor heard from since Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
