Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson Juanita V. Martinez Attends Democratic National Committee Winter Meeting in Philadelphia

Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson Juanita V. Martinez of Eagle Pass, Texas announced that she was invited and is attending the Democratic National Committee Winter Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during February 2-4, 2023 held in Center City at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel.
Martinez stated she is honored and pleased to represent Maverick County and the United States-Mexico border at the Democratic National Committee Winter Meeting in Philadelphia.
The Democratic National Committee Winter Meeting will feature committee meetings and a vote to change the 2024 Presidential Primary Calendar replacing Iowa as the first presidential primary and installing a new calendar with South Carolina as the first presidential primary on February 3, 2024 followed by New Hampshire and Nevada on February 6, Georgia on February 13 and Michigan two weeks later. The vote on the changing of the Presidential Primary Calendar is expected to held on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison is presiding over the Winter Meeting and does not face re-election as National Chair until 2025 after the 2024 United States Presidential Election.
President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris will be keynote speakers at the DNC Winter Meeting in Philadelphia.
Additional speakers include former U. S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and U. S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders and other Democratic Party leaders.
Under Martinez’s leadership, the Maverick County Democratic Party successfully led a sweep of county races in the November 8, 2022 General Election despite a heavy Republican push to make inroads on the solid Democratic Texas-Mexico border area, particularly in South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley. Maverick County’s Democratic victories will be shared with members of the DNC at the Winter Meeting in Philadelphia.
