Eagle Pass Memorial Junior High One Act Play Wins Third Place at Laredo Meet

With dreams of one day performing on Broadway in New York City, the Eagle Pass Memorial Junior High One Act Play students won Third Place at the Laredo Invitational University Interscholastic League (U. I. L.) One Act Play on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Laredo Performing Arts Center in Laredo, Texas, announced Yvonne G. Flores, Memorial Junior High U. I. L. One Act Play Director.
“Our Memorial Junior High students competed against all of the Laredo Middle Schools and did an extraordinary job by coming in third place against very stiff competition from Laredo’s finest Middle School students,” Flores said.
“Four of our Memorial One Act Play students were selected by the judges to the All-Star Cast and Crew Teams, including Madison De Los Santos and Valeria Long received All-Star Cast honors, Sarah Diaz received All-Star Crew honors, and Monserrat Rodriguez was named All-Star Cast Honorable Mention,” added Flores.
The Memorial Junior High U. I. L. One Act Play Cast members include Madison De Los Santos, Vianney Galvan, Alejandro Gonzalez, Valeria Long, Kamila Pineda, Monserrat Rodriguez, and Willy Sada, while the One Act Play Crew members include Tania Castillo, Sarah Diaz, Giada James, Juan Longoria, Sara Robles, and Aynel Rodriguez.
“Our Memorial Junior High One-Act Play members gained valuable experience, confidence, and self-esteem while developing and improving their theatrical and educational experience,” Flores said.
Memorial Junior High U. I. L. Coordinator is Melissa Hernandez and One Act Play Director is Yvonne G. Flores.
