Highland Park, IL Gunman Suspect in Custody After Brief Car Pursuit in Lake Forest, Illinois

A Lake County, Illinois Sheriff spokesperson, Lou Frogmen, announced that the person of interest, or suspect, of the July 4, 2022 Independence Day Parade Massacre at Highland Park, Illinois, Robert E. “Bobby” Primo, III, is in custody after a brief pursuit by a North Chicago Policeman who located him driving his 2010 Honda Fit vehicle in Lake Forest, Illinois.
The North Chicago Policeman called for backup and sought to stop the suspect, but he attempted to flee in his Honda vehicle and after a brief pursuit was detained without incident and taken into custody. Primo is the main person of interest in the tragic and horrific 4th of July Parade Massacre, but the case remains under investigation and official charges have not yet been filed as of press time.
Multiple law enforcement agencies have been collaborating since the incident flared up at 10:14 a.m. on July 4, 2022 in downtown Highland Park, Illinois, recovering a high power rifle, shell casings, and other evidence. Preliminary fingerprints on the evidence recovered identified Primo as the person of interest, issuing an alert for his detention as a person of interest in the senseless and violent crime.
As of press time, at least six people have been killed and 26 people were critically wounded and hospitalized in area Illinois hospitals.
The case remains under investigation.
