Dr. Lizett J. Martinez Joins Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates

Dr. Priscilla R. Heredia of Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates announced the hiring of Dr. Lizett J. Martinez as a new Therapeutic Optometrist and Certified Glaucoma Specialist at the long established Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates, located at 708 S. Bibb Avenue and 2076 N. Veterans Blvd., in Eagle Pass, Texas effective immediately.
Dr. Rodriguez stated “I welcome Dr. Lizett J. Martinez, born and raised in Eagle Pass, to our growing practice at Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates. Together we look forward to serving the eyecare patients in Eagle Pass and Middle Rio Grande area with the highest professional services and a compassionate heart and unwavering commitment towards the patients and communities we serve.”
Dr. Lizett J. Martinez attended local public schools and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Vision Science from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Rosenberg School of Optometry at the University of the Incarnate Word.
During her optometry studies at the Rosenberg School of Optometry, Dr. Martinez dedicated part of her time doing missionary work to help an underserved population in Panama. She also completed one of her clinical rotations at the Community Eye Care Clinic in Fort Worth, Texas, primarily focusing on ocular disease, glaucoma management, and specialty contact lenses. Her second clinical rotation was at Eye Centers of South Florida in North Miami, Florida, focusing on primary care, ocular disease, and ocular surgery co-management.
As a Therapeutic Optometrist and certified Glaucoma Specialist, Dr. Martinez is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Her professional specialties/competencies include primary care, optometry, ocular disease, ocular disease, ocular surgery co-management, and specialty contact lenses.
Outside of Optometry, Dr. Martinez enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, running, hiking, and working out.
Dr. Martinez stated “I am deeply honored to be joining Dr. Priscilla R. Heredia at the prestigious Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates in my hometown of Eagle Pass, originally founded by Dr. Carlos E.
