12 Eagle Pass Eagles Receive 2022 District 30-6A All-District Honors

Eagle Pass High School Eagles Head Baseball Coach Reynol Mendoza announced that a total of 12 players received one or more 2022 District 30-6A All-District Team Honors.
The Eagles advanced to the fourth round of the U.I.L. Region IV-6A representing District 30-6A as the second place team overall, falling to San Antonio Reagan High School Rattlers in a thrilling Regional Semifinals Championship one game playoff 8-7 on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Laredo Independent School District Veterans Field in Laredo, Texas.
Four Eagles were named to the 2022 District 30-6A All-District Baseball First Team, including standout junior pitcher Donovan Becerra, standout junior first baseman Derek Ruiz, standout junior pitcher Robert De La Garza, and standout senior catcher Joaquin Olivas.
An additional four Eagles were named to the 2022 District 30-6A All-District Baseball Second Team, including standout junior outfielder Isaac Stanwick, standout junior pitcher Alex Paniagua, standout junior outfielder Tavare Chavez, and standout junior shortstop Robert De La Garza.
Two more Eagles received 2022 District 30-6A All-District Baseball Honorable Mention, including standout junior third baseman Luis Kancheff and standout senior second baseman Mathew Elizondo.
Five Eagles were named to the elite 2022 District 30-6A All-District Baseball All-Academic Team, including senior outfielder Ramon Salinas, senior outfielder Hector Gomez, senior catcher Zachary Zapata, senior catcher Joaquin Olivas, and senior infielder Mathew Elizondo.
The Eagles had an outstanding 2022 Baseball season with an overall record of 23-14, including second place finish in District 30-6A, Bi-District Championship, Area Championship, Regional Quarterfinal Championship, and Regional Semifinal Finalist.
The Eagle Pass Business Journal congratulates the 12 Eagles who received 2022 District 30-6A All-District Team honors as well as the entire team players for enjoying an outstanding season and representing the community with exemplary sportsmanship.
