Early Voting Begins February 14-25 for State and County Races at Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center

Early Voting begins on Monday, February 14, 2022 and runs through February 25 for state and Maverick County political races in the March 1, 2022 Primary Election at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, 480 S. Adams Street, Eagle Pass, Texas, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., announced Juanita V. Martinez, Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson.
“All registered Maverick County voters are encouraged to come out and cast their vote for the candidates of their choice during the Early Voting period of February 14-25,” said Martinez.
Both the Democratic and Republican parties’ March 1 Primary Elections Early Voting will be held at the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center for the convenience of Maverick County voters.
Over 33,000 voters are registered in Maverick County, according to Maverick County Elections Administrator Roy Schmerber.
Early Voting on February 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 will be held at the Multi-Purpose Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A special Saturday vote day will be held on February 19 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, February 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No voting will be held on February 21 in honor of Presidents Day national holiday. Early Voting resumes on Tuesday, February 22 through 25 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Election Day is on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at designated Maverick County polling places throughout all four precincts.
Among the political races on the ballot include U. S. House of Representatives (Congress), District 23; Governor; Lieutenant Governor; Attorney General; Comptroller of Public Accounts; Commissioner of the General Land Office; Commissioner of Agriculture; Railroad Commissioner; Texas Supreme Court; Texas Court of Criminal Appeals; State Board of Education; State Senator, District 19; State Representative, District 74; Texas Fourth Court of Appeals; 293rd Judicial District; 365th Judicial District Court; Maverick County Judge; Maverick County District Clerk; Maverick County Clerk; Maverick County Tax Assessor-Collector; Maverick County Treasurer; Maverick County Justice of the Peace, Precincts No. 1, 2, 3-AB, 3-C, and 4; and Democratic and Republican Party County Chair.
Voting only takes five to ten minutes of one’s time and the staff of the Maverick County Elections Office and both Democratic and Republican parties make it safe and efficient to cast a ballot at the Multi-Purpose Center. Bring your spouse, significant other, adult children, family, and friends to come out and vote during the Early Voting period of February 14-25 at the Multi-Purpose Center.
