Murphy Express Opens New Gas Station in Eagle Pass

Murphy USA, Inc. of El Dorado, Arkansas has opened a new gasoline and diesel fuel station and convenience store in Eagle Pass, Texas on Thursday, December 9, 2021, named Murphy Express, located at 2090 N. Veterans Blvd, on the north side of Eagle Pass at the intersection of North Veterans Blvd. and Second Street, announced Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr.
Mayor Salinas, City Manager George Antuna, and City Public Relations Director Aide Castano were invited to the soft opening of the new Murphy Express gas station by store management. A formal grand opening will be scheduled in the near future.
Mayor Salinas welcomed Murphy Express to Eagle Pass and cited it as a significant business investment in the community as well as creating new jobs.
Mayor Salinas added that Eagle Pass is growing and many new companies and businesses are daily inquiring City officials about investing and opening new businesses in the community.
Mayor Salinas noted the City of Eagle Pass has added an Economic Development Department led by Arturo Marquez as well as formed the Eagle Pass-Maverick County Economic Development Alliance led by Morris Libson, Jr. to assist and recruit new businesses and industry to Maverick County.
Eagle Pass Economic Development Director Arturo Marquez stated the city has developed a new website called ChooseEsglePass.com for entrepreneurs and investors to learn about business programs and incentives available in the community.
Murphy USA, Inc. operates under the brand names of Murphy USA for gas stations located in the parking lots of Walmart and Murphy Express for stand-alone locations. This is now the second gas station in Eagle Pass with the first being a Murphy USA at the local Walmart store on S. Bibb Avenue.
Murphy USA, Inc. is one of the largest independent retailers of gasoline products and convenience store merchandise with more than 1,650 locations in 27 states in the United States.
City Manager George Antuna stated city officials are ready and available to assist any business or investor in learning more about opening a new business.
Local citizens welcomed the opening of the new Murphy Express gas station at its strategic location on North Veterans Blvd. after months waiting for it to open.
