Eagle Pass City Council Place 4 Run-Off Election is Saturday, June 19

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Secretary Imelda B. Rodriguez announced that the City Officers Run-Off Election for City Council Place 4 will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Center, 480 South Adams Street, in downtown Eagle Pass.
Vying for the City Council Place 4 position are Maricarmen Perales Rangel and Monica J. Cruz. Rangel and Cruz squared off in the May 1, 2021 City Officers Election, but neither obtained a majority vote due to a third candidate in the race.
Monica J. Cruz obtained 2,272 votes (47.77%) compared to Maricarmen Perales Rangel’s 1,760 votes (37.01%) in the May 1, 2021 City Officers Election while Leeroy Euresti received 724 votes (15.22%).
Monica J. Cruz is a realtor and owns her own realty company in the community.
Maricarmen Perales Rangel is a counselor with the Eagle Pass Independent School District as well as a real estate agent with a local realty company.
Both Cruz and Perales have been diligently campaigning and block walking seeking the support of registered city voters.
All registered City of Eagle Pass voters are encouraged to come out to vote in the City Council Place 4 Run-Off Election on Saturday, June 19, at the Multi-Purpose Center from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The winner of the City Council Place 4 Run-Off Election will be announced shortly after the polls close on Saturday, June 17, at 7 p.m. at the Maverick County Courthouse in Eagle Pass.
