Eagle Pass Mayor and City Council Election Starts on April 19 with Early Voting

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas City Officers Election of May 1, 2021 gets underway on Monday, April 19 with Early Voting running through April 27 at the Multi-Purpose Center, 480 S. Adams Street, in Eagle Pass, announced City Secretary Imelda Rodriguez.
A total of six candidates are seeking a position on the Eagle Pass City Council, including for Mayor, City Council Place 2 and Place 4. In addition, voters will also be casting a ballot on Proposition A calling for the City of Eagle Pass be authorized or not to sell a .667 Acres tract of parkland property in Carthage Place Unit 5 Subdivision.
Vying for Mayor are incumbent Luis E. Sifuentes and City Councilman Place 4 Rolando Salinas while City Council Place 2 incumbent Elias Diaz is unopposed and City Council Place 4 has three candidates including MariCarmen Perales Rangel, Leeroy Euresti, and Monica J. Cruz.
The Multi-Purpose Center polling place will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays from April 19-27, except on Tuesday, April 20, and on Monday, April 26, which will have extended voting hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Regular Election Day is on Saturday, May 1, 2021 and the Multi-Purpose Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Anyone wishing to vote by mail must request it to Imelda B. Rodriguez, Early Voting Clerk, 100 S. Monroe Street, Eagle Pass, Texas 78852. Applications for ballots by mail must be received by no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20.
All City of Eagle Pass registered voters are encouraged to participate in the City Officers Election of May 1, 2021 by casting their ballot either by mail, Early Voting period, or on Election Day, Saturday, May 1 at the Multi-Purpose Center.
