Seven Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks Earn District 28-5A Boys Basketball All-District Honors

Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Mavericks Boys Basketball Head Coach Paulo Valero announced that a total of seven players earned 2020-2021 District 28-5A All-District Honors.
Maverick junior Ryan Rodriguez was named the District 28-5A Newcomer of the Year by the District head basketball coaches. Rodriguez averaged six points and two rebounds per game in District action, including a best game performance of scoring 20 points, four rebounds, and six deflections against the San Antonio Southside Cardinals.
Maverick junior Angel Gomez was named to the District 28-5A Second All-District Team by the District head basketball coaches, averaging ten points and eight rebounds per game in District competition. Gomez had a best game performance of 20 points and 14 rebounds against the San Antonio Southwest Legacy Titans.
Named to the District 28-5A All-District Honorable Mention Team were Mavericks senior Alex Rodriguez, senior Ram Corpus, Jr., and junior Josue Jimenez.
Also named to the elite District 28-5A All-District Academic Team were Mavericks freshman Jovan Jimenez, sophomore Jose Balbuena, junior Josue Jimenez, and senior Alex Rodriguez.
The Eagle Pass Business Journal congratulates all the C. C. Winn High School Mavericks Boys Basketball players named to the 2020-2021 District 28-5A All-District Team and wishes them all the best in their future academic and athletic careers.
