First City of Eagle Pass, Texas Employee Dies From COVID-19, 33 Year Veteran of Public Works Department

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas announced that it had lost a dedicated 33 year veteran employee of the Public Works Department, Nolberto “Beto” Rodriguez, age 54, due to COVID-19 on Friday, September 11, 2020.
Rodriguez had been infected with COVID-19 for approximately three weeks and was hospitalized at a San Antonio, Texas hospital where he succumbed to the deadly coronavirus after a courageous battle against the virus.
Eagle Pass Mayor Luis E. Sifuentes lamented the passing of Rodriguez and expressed his deepest condolences to Rodriguez’s family on his passing away.
Eagle Pass Public Works Director Jesus “Cacho” Sandoval stated that Nolberto “Beto” Rodriguez was a dedicated and hard working employee and will be greatly missed by him and all of his co-workers. Sandoval noted Rodriguez had served 33 years with the City of Eagle Pass in the Public Works Department.
Although several City of Eagle Pass employees have tested positive for COVID-19, Rodriguez is the first to pass away from the deadly virus.
