Mexico Provides Scholarships to Sul Ross State University

(Press Release) The Mexican government generously bestowed $8,000 in scholarship funds to Sul Ross State Univ. in Del Rio on Wed., Aug. 26.

José Luis Díaz Mirón Hinojosa, Cónsul Encargado, presented the check to Sul Ross State Univ. Rio Grande College Vice President Dr. Robert Munóz. Provided by the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IME) through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the scholarships benefit Mexican nationals and students with close ties to Mexico who attend SRSU in Del Rio.

Dr. Munoz said, “Growing up in a border region myself, I am aware how the cultures and the economies of the two nations are intertwined. I want to thank the Mexican government through the consul’s office for the presentation of scholarship funds today. Sul Ross State University is honored that we can serve the recipients in furthering their education.”
