Eagle Pass High School Graduation Scheduled Friday, June 26, with Over 600 Graduates

The Eagle Pass High School Eagles’ Class of 2020 Gradation is scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2020, at 8:45 P.M. at the Eagle Pass Independent School District (EPISD) Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium with over 600 graduates, announced EPISD Superintendent Samuel Mijares. The graduation ceremony will be held as a live, in-person event with COVID-19 social distancing measures.
Each graduating senior will be allowed up to four guests in their automobile at the EPISD Student Activity Center graduation ceremony, said Mijares. Children 10 and under will not be allowed to attend the ceremony due to COVID-19. Graduates and guests are encouraged to wear face masks to the graduation due to COVID-19, but they are not required, added Mijares. Gates to the EPISD Student Activity Center will open at 7 P.M.
Leading the Eagle Pass High School Class of 2020 are Valedictorian Edwin Pua, Jr. with an extraordinary Grade Point Average (GPA) of 114.4694, the highest in the history of Eagle Pass High School, and Salutatorian Alyssa Barrientos with an amazing GPA of 111.0208. Pua and Barrientos will present their Valedictorian and Salutatorian speeches at the graduation ceremony.
Rounding out the top 20 graduates of the Eagle Pass High School Class of 2020 include No. 3 Alana Ojeda Elizondo with a GPA of 110.5000, No. 4 Jarett Bates with a GPA of 109.9362, No. 5 Ileana Fernandez with a GPA of 109.7059, No. 6 Gabriela Conde with a GPA of 109.7027, No. 7 Ricardo Rodriguez with a GPA of 109.6341, No. 8 Luis Rodriguez with a GPA of 108.4595, No. 9 Jimmy Hinojosa, Jr. with a GPA of 108.3947, No. 10 Andres Arizpe-Gomez with a GPA of 108.3529, No. 11 Miriam Rodriguez with a GPA of 107.8500, No. 12 Dariela Hernandez with a GPA of 107.6176, No. 13. Paola Chavarria with a GPA of 107.2000, No. 14 Paulina Brown with a GPA of 107.0851, No. 15 Roberto De La Cabada with a GPA of 107.0286, No. 16 Jonathan Guerra with a GPA of 106.9730, No. 17 Gunner Purcell with a GPA of 106.7838, No. 18 Jaslie Banda with a GPA of 106.6389, No. 19 Lindsey Rivera with a GPA of 106.4565, and No. 20 Vanessa Garcia with a GPA of 106.3438.
The Eagle Pass High School Class of 2020 will always be known in history for its resilience and perseverance against the Coronavirus Pandemic, which interrupted their senior year in mid-March 2020 in-person classroom instruction with remote instruction.
Initially, the graduation ceremony was scheduled on June 5, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic was rescheduled for June 26.
