City of Eagle Pass Now Accepting Applications for Business Assistance Grants
(Press Release) The City of Eagle Pass is proud to announce that the City Council recently approved to give grants to assist local businesses during this pandemic. The Economic Development Department will begin accepting applications for the Business Assistance Grant on Friday, June 26th at 5:00 PM. The grants are funds received by the City of Eagle Pass under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). The CARES Act provides fast and direct economic assistance for American workers, families, and small businesses, and preserve jobs for our American industries.
These grants are available to local businesses in Eagle Pass, TX. Businesses may qualify for a $3,000 or $5,000 grant based on the amount of rent paid and the total number of employees. Applications are available online or for pick up at the City of Eagle Pass Tax Office located at 100 S. Monroe in Eagle Pass, TX. “The grant funds provided by the CARES Act will assist our local businesses offset some of their lost revenue during this pandemic,” said Luis E. Sifuentes, Mayor for the City of Eagle Pass. “The City of Eagle Pass urges local businesses to apply for the grant opportunity to assist them with their COVID-19 recovery efforts.”
The City of Eagle Pass will accept applications until July 10, 2020, and it is on a first-come first-serve basis. The City of Eagle Pass reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications based on the eligibility criteria set forth under this specific grant.
