Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
Tuesday March 31, 2020: Eagle Pass Police Investigators served felony warrants on seventeen (17) year old Abraham Lopez and seventeen (17) year old Roman Rodriguez. Lopez and Rodriguez are suspects in a burglary of a convenience store located within the 2400 block of Main Street which were seen on social media sites committing the burglary of the store on March 28, 2020. Both were formally charged with burglary of a building and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of individual $7000.00 bonds.
Saturday, April 4, 2020, 5:00 PM: Officers responded to the Foxborough Drive area in reference to reported reckless drivers. A gray colored Cadillac XTS was noticed by officers with extensive front-end damage and leaking fluids. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle which evaded through the neighborhood and was stopped in a brush area behind an apartment complex. During his arrest, the driver; 25-year-old Juan Alejandro Monsivais resisted officers attempts to place him in hand restraints. Monsivais was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and leaving the scene of an accident with more than $200.00 in damages. The charge of driving while intoxicated is at this time pending the results of mandatory blood draw which was sent to the DPS Crime Lab for analysis. Monsivais was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a combined $30,000.00 bond for the current charges.
Sunday, April 5, 2020, 1:12 AM: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2013 Nissan Altima for operating without its headlights within the 2300 block of Alice Drive. The driver; 48 year-old Juan Ricardo Rodriguez appeared to be highly intoxicated and was assisted out of the vehicle where he began to resist officers. While attempting to place Rodriguez in hand restraints he informed the officers that because of him they were now infected with “the virus.” Rodriguez was arrested and charged with failure to identify, felony terroristic threats on a public servant and driving while intoxicated.
Monday, April 13, 2020, 4:34 AM: Officers responded to the Whataburger Restaurant Drive Thru in regards to an unruly female using obscene language towards employees of the restaurant. Officers encountered a female passenger of a 2018 Dodge pickup who appeared to be intoxicated and under the influence of possible narcotics. The female later identified as 25 year-old Angelica Christine Martinez refused to adhere to the officer’s commands and was removed from the vehicle and arrested. Martinez was charged with failure to identify, harassment of a public servant and felony assault of a public servant after spitting on the arresting officer. Martinez was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a combined $15,000.00 bond.
