CBP Officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry Intercept Two Back to Back Alien Smuggling Attempts at the Camino Real Bridge
EAGLE PASS, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers at the Camino Real Bridge intercepted two alien smuggling attempts in separate unrelated incidents on April 19.
“These interceptions exemplify CBP’s commitment to stop illegal human trafficking,” said Port Director Paul Del Rincon, Eagle Pass, Texas Port of Entry.
The first enforcement action occurred after a CBP officer referred a 2020 GMC Sierra for a secondary inspection. Upon inspection, CBP officers discovered a 24-year-old Mexican citizen female hidden under the back seat of the vehicle.
Later that afternoon, a 2004 Lincoln Navigator was referred for inspection. During the CBP inspection interview, it was discovered that a 20-year-old Mexican citizen female was attempting to make entry to the United States by presenting a birth certificate belonging to a 17-year-old United States female citizen.
In both cases, CBP officers seized the vehicles and the aliens who attempted illegal entry were returned to Mexico.
