Diaz and Salinas Register for City Council Places 2 and 4 in City Special Officers Election

After the December 2nd deadline for candidates to register for the Mayor’s position, two City Council members, Rudy Villalpando and Luis E. Sifuentes, registered for Mayor, vacating their City Council Places 2 and 4 and opening these two Council positions for election in the City Special Officers Election to be held on February 1, 2020.

Early on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, Mental Health Clinician Eliaz Diaz registered for City Council Place 2 in the City’s Special Officers Election with City Secretary Imelda B. Rodriguez. Diaz was accompanied by his parents, family, friends, and supporters at the registration ceremony held at City Hall.

Local attorney Rolando Salinas also registered for City Council Place 4 in the City Special Officers Election with City Secretary Imelda B. Rodriguez. Salinas was joined by family, friends, and supporters at his registration ceremony.

Expected to register for City Council Place 2 later in the day (December 4th) is Elizabeth Chisum De La Garza and for City Council Place 4 is Mayito Obregon. Any person interested in registering as a candidate must do so with City Secretary Imelda B. Rodriguez.
