Maverick County Hospital District (MCHD) Chief Executive Officer Alma Martinez announced the ribbon cutting ceremony for the District’s new Primary Care Clinic will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 10 A.M. at 3406 Bob Rogers Drive, in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Martinez cordially invites the residents, public dignitaries, businesses, and healthcare providers of Maverick County to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Primary Care Clinic at the MCHD on September 13th.
The MCHD Board of Directors approved the Primary Care Clinic to provide primary care healthcare services to all residents of Maverick County as well as existing patients of the District’s Physician Specialty Clinic due to a large demand from the community.
“MCHD is working to bring the best medical care services to the region, including the addition of preventive care services,” Martinez said.
“MCHD is focusing on providing the community with important preventive health care services and raising awareness in order to decrease chronic illnesses in the future,” Jesus Casas, MCHD Board President said. “We need to focus in providing our community with preventive measures and awareness. If we do so, we can diminish illnesses and lower health care costs,” Casas added.
According to health care studies, preventive care helps patients to lower their health care costs by preventing diseases before they require emergency room care and specialty care services.
“The District’s Strategic Plan includes a visionary expansion of medical care and social services that will continue promoting and seeking the improvement of health and quality of life of the people of Maverick County and region,” Casas said.
The MCHD Board of Directors is composed of Jesus Casas, Board President; Rebecca Robinson, Vice-President; Aaron Valdez, Secretary-Treasurer; Adolfo “Fito” Olivares; and Juan Manuel “Chuco” Farias.
The MCHD was created in 1965 by the Texas Legislature in order to provide medical care and hospital services to the indigent people of Maverick County. The MCHD is supported by ad valorem taxes imposed upon all Maverick County residents or persons owning real property and businesses within Maverick County, federal and state grants, federal Medicaid and Medicare payments, and private insurance payments.
