Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report

Thursday, March 7, 2019, 7:38 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2016 Cadillac Escalade within the 4200 block of El Indio Highway pursuant to a traffic violation. Officers spoke with the male driver and passenger and developed suspicion to request consent from the driver to search the vehicle which was granted.

The search revealed over $60,000.00 in undeclared U.S. currency concealed in special designed hidden compartments within the vehicle. The driver, 37-year-old Steve Cardenas from Columbia and the passenger, 40-year-old Terrance Deuel Nalls from New Jersey were both taken into custody. The currency and the 2016 Cadillac Escalade were seized, and this case has been referred to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation and prosecution.
