Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
Tuesday, July 31, 2018, 12:55 AM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer on patrol observed a male subject walking in the area of Trinity Street. The officer had knowledge of an active warrant for the male subject and proceeded to stop him and conduct an inquiry on his personal data. A computer inquiry revealed an active warrant for aggravated robbery originating from a case reported to the Eagle Pass Police Department on July 5, 2018. 23-year-old Jesus Alberto Valles was placed under arrest and later presented before a magistrate and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
Wednesday, August 1, 2018, 4:24 PM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer spoke with a female complainant in regards to fraud. The complainant informed the officer she had received a check in the mail from an internet-based company for over $2000. The complainant stated she attempted to cash the check and upon verifying the validity of the check by the check cashing business, it was determined to be a fraudulent check.
Wednesday, August 1, 2018, 8:47 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Garrison Street and Colorado Street in regards to a stolen 2006 red Hummer. Officers were informed the vehicle was traveling south on Bibb Street turning west onto El Indio Highway. Officers on patrol observed a vehicle matching the description on El Indio Highway and proceeded to conduct a felony stop within the 600 block of Laredo Street. Upon stopping the vehicle an 18-year-old female driver was taken into custody without further incident. This case is currently being investigated by the Eagle Pass Auto Theft Division.
Thursday, August 02, 2018, 4:43 AM: Eagle Pass Police Officers on Patrol conducted a traffic stop on gray 2003 Volkswagen within the 2500 block of North Veterans Boulevard pursuant to a traffic law violation. Officers approached the vehicle and immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver and the passenger, consent was obtained to search the vehicle. A K-9 was deployed on the vehicle and a small amount of usable marijuana was located. Both the 21-year-old driver and the 21-year-old passenger were placed under arrest for misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces. This case is currently under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
