MCWCID No. 1 Holds Abdalla Moses Complex Name Dedication Ceremony

The Maverick County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (MCWCID No. 1) held the Abdalla Moses Complex Name Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the District’s Headquarters located at 1622 Industrial Road, Maverick County Industrial Park, Eagle Pass, Texas.
Former MCWCID No. 1 Board President and Member Abadalla Moses served 19 years on the Board of Directors. During his tenure, Abdalla Moses guided the MCWCID No. 1 to several landmark achievements, including the purchase of the Eagle Pass Hydro Electric Power Plant in 2005, the District Voter Bill in 2001, the Water Rights Adjudication Law in 1983, the Return Flow Credit to the MCWCID No. 1 in 1981, and the purchase of the District’s Headquarters in 2000.
Abdalla Moses was a dedicated farmer and teacher in Maverick County, Texas. He loved to farm in Quemado Valley and enjoyed teaching the students of Eagle Pass High School for many years. He passed away to be with the Lord on January 22, 2017.
Master of Ceremony for the Abdalla Moses Complex Name Dedication Ceremony was Cynthia Martinez, General Manager of the MCWCID No. 1.
The Pledge of Allegiance was presented by Aeron Moses. The National Anthem was presented by Jessica Kowalski-Cavazos. The Invocation was presented by A. Dwayne Jernigan.
Keynote speakers were Henry Moses and Roy Cooley. The Name Dedication Ceremony was presented by Beyer Junfin, Board President of the MCWCID No. 1.
Closing remarks were presented by Cynthia Martinez, General Manager of the MCWCID No. 1.
The MCWCID No. 1 Board of Directors is composed of Beyer Junfin, President, Gabriel Garcia, Vice-President, Juan Manuel Garcia, Jr., Secretary, Juan Perez, and Javier Mancha. Cynthia Martinez is the General Manager and General Counsel for MCWCID No. 1 is Ricardo E. Calderon.
The Abdalla Moses Family were present at the historic Name Dedication Ceremony, including his wife, Amelia, and children Deania, Lilia, Henry, U.S. District Judge Alia Moses, Diana, Marina, and grandchildren. Family members of both the Moses and Lopez families also attended the ceremony.
Following the Name Dedication Ceremony, a reception was held for guests at the MCWCID No. 1 Conference Room.
Dignitaries in attendance were United States District Judge Alia Moses, United States Magistrate Judge Victor Roberto Garcia, State Representative Tracy O. King, Maverick County Judge David R. Saucedo, Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 3 Pete Venegas, Jr., and Maverick County Constable Precinct 3C Sam Chacon.
