City of Eagle Pass BEDC Launches Nonprofit Partnership
(Press Release) The City of Eagle Pass Business & Economic Development Committee (BEDC) will launch its new BEDC Nonprofit Partnership at a breakfast on August 22, 2018, at 8:30 a.m., at the International Center for Trade (ICT) West Room. This breakfast is open to all nonprofit Board Presidents and Executive Directors.
The Eagle Pass BEDC Nonprofit Partnership will serve as a bridge between the business community and nonprofit groups. The partnership will assist nonprofits by: creating awareness about services and mission of local nonprofits, provide community service opportunities, support organizational governance, connecting businesses and nonprofits, support BEDC initiatives, and serve as link between city government and nonprofits.
The BEDC Nonprofit Partnership will fall under the BEDC’s Amenities, Tourism, and Visitors Committee, which is chaired by Jaime Rodriguez. “I am excited about this unique opportunity for the business community to support our local nonprofits,” says Chairman Jaime Rodriguez. “Nonprofits play an important role in enhancing quality of life and providing a variety of services for our community,” adds Rodriguez.
According to the National Council of Nonprofits, nonprofits protect, feed, heal, shelter, educate, nurture, and stimulate the economy. Many of the BEDC’s members are directly involved with nonprofit organizations and serve on several executive boards.
“I am pleased that the City of Eagle Pass, through its BEDC, is conducting this important outreach to our area nonprofits,” says Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu. “The city council and I deeply value the services provided by our community’s nonprofits and their dedicated volunteers, and I believe the new BEDC Nonprofit Partnership will further connect the City of Eagle Pass with local organizations,” adds Mayor English-Cantu.
Nonprofit Board Presidents, Executive Directors or designee may RSVP for the breakfast by contacting ernie.gonzalez@emcstrategygroup.com or calling 210.960.4340, ext. 101.
