54-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Eagle Pass Canal

(Press Release) Monday, July 23, 2018, 8:00 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to the 100 block of North Monroe Street within the city arroyo in regards to a reported deceased person. Investigating officers and EMS personnel arrived and discovered a male subject in the arroyo who upon examination did not display signs of life.

Criminal Investigators with the assistance of the Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers Division arrived at the scene to commence the investigation and a Justice of the Peace was later summoned for the pronunciation of death. The 54-year-old male was later retrieved by a local funeral service to be transported for autopsy purposes.

This case remains under investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department Criminal Investigations Division and information will be provided as it becomes available.
